SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--US energy major ExxonMobil plans to shut its 480,000 tonne/year polyethylene (PE) plant in Jurong Island, Singapore for maintenance in May, industry sources said on Thursday.
“The PE plant is scheduled to shut from 7 May to 12 June for maintenance,” one of the sources said.
The planned shutdown was part of a scheduled turnaround at its petrochemical complex at the same site, sources said.
The other facilities at the complex, including a 900,000 tonne/year cracker and a 275,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit, were also expected to be taken off line in May for maintenance but the exact timing could not be ascertained, they said.
Company officials were not available for comment.
