SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Bayer MaterialScience plans to shut its 200,000 tonne/year polycarbonate (PC) plant in Caojing, Shanghai, in June for a month of maintenance work, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

In Thailand, the company's 270,000 tonne/year PC unit at Mab Ta Phut, in Rayong province, had resumed operations as scheduled in early April after it had been taken off line in early March for a scheduled turnaround, the source said.

Both plants were currently running at full rates, the source said.
