SHANGHAI (ICIS news)-- China-based Zibo Dexin Lianbang Chemical has plans to double its polyether polyols capacity to 160,000 tonnes/year in the next few years, a company source said on Thursday.
“We are optimistic about the market prospect. The capacity expansion also complies with the company’s strategic development [plan],” the source said in Mandarin.
“But the [expansion] schedule needs the approval from the board of directors,” he said.
The company has a 50,000 tonne/year polyether polyols unit and a 30,000 tonne/year polyether polyols facility at Zibo in China's eastern province of Shandong. The plants were running at near full capacity, the source said.
Polyether polyols are key feedstock for the production of polyurethanes.
