SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Sumitomo Chemical Singapore will shut its 90,000 tonne/year No 3 methyl methacrylate (MMA) line on 31 August for a 10-day maintenance turnaround, said a company source on Friday.

"The line will be shut next Monday and will restart on 9 September," the source said.

Its No 1 MMA line had completed its maintenance turnaround this month.

Sumitomo Chemical operates three methyl methacrylate (MMA) lines with a total capacity of 220,000 tonnes/year at the Singapore site.

Its 80,000 tonne/year No 2 line has yet to come back on stream after it was taken off line in April 2008 due to technical problems.

Sumitomo also operates two PMMA lines with a total capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year at the facility.
