ExxonMobil ends Mont Belvieu HDPE sales allocation

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--ExxonMobil has ended a formal sales allocation on high density polyethylene (HDPE) grades from its Mont Belvieu plant in Texas, a company spokesman said on Friday.

Theallocation was in place for the month of August, Jeff Neu said. The company would not divulge the reason for the allocation

A market source said the allocation was for 80% of sales, but ExxonMobil would not confirm this.

ExxonMobil’s Mont Belvieu plastics plant has HDPE capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
