Wessel appointed Evonik’s new human resources officer

LONDON (ICIS news)--Evonik Industries has appointed Thomas Wessel as chief human resources officer of Evonik Degussa effective from 1 November, the German specialty chemicals company said on Tuesday.

Wessel, currently chairman of the board of management at energy giant RAG Bildung, will succeed Ralf Blauth, who currently holds the position in addition to his role as chief human resources officer of Evonik Industries.

Blauth will relinquish his post on the board of management before the end of his original term of office on 31 October.

CEO Klaus Engel praised Wessel’s role in integrating Degussa into the Evonik Group and said he was delighted with the appointment.
