New weekly Asia Polyethylene (PE) pipe grade resin price report from ICIS pricing

ICIS pricing, the world’s leading price reporting service for the global chemical industry, has launched a new weekly price report for Asian polyethylene (PE) pipe grade resins covering China and Southeast Asia.

The release of the new report follows the successful launch of a similar report, Polyethylene Pipe Grade Middle East/South Asia report, last month. The Asia PE pipe grade price report adds much-needed clarity for industry players to underpin commercial contracts and to support key business decisions in this volatile market.

The report covers two industry-grade high density polyethylene (HDPE)-based pipe resins: natural and black compounded PE80 & PE100 grades. Price assessments include CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia, as well as insightful news and commentary.

China currently fronts the demand surge, accounting for 30% of new global demand, with the majority of imports coming from the Middle East and Korea. China’s estimated production rate was about 4.6m tonnes of plastic pipes last year, 28.18% higher than the previous year, according to the China Plastics Processor Industry Association,” said ICIS Senior Editor, Chow Bee Lin.

Asia will be a major growth area with demand for water, irrigation and energy delivery of gas and oil requiring the need for a reliable pipeline system. Many industry players will be turning to PE pipe grade resins for its cost-effective installation and enhanced properties.

The new report brings exclusive transparency to the PE pipe grade resin market with up-to-date market data and vital price assessments in Asia.
