TORONTO (ICIS news)--Air Products has signed a turn-key contract to supply industrial and specialty gases to the DuPont Apollo thin-film photovoltaic (PV) facility in Shenzhen, China, the international industrial gases major said on Tuesday.
The contract covers long-term supplies of nitrogen, hydrogen, argon, oxygen and specialty gases, such as silane, as well as phosphine mixtures and other dopant gases.
It also includes related gas distribution equipment and engineering services to the DuPont plant, Air Products said.
Financial terms, volumes and contract length were not disclosed.
DuPont is described as a leading supplier of PV materials, primarily serving the crystalline silicon cell and module markets. Its DuPont Apollo business aims to help replace fossil fuel with solar energy, the company said.
The growing photovoltaic industry has become an important market for industrial gases suppliers.
