SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Total’s chemicals segment reported a fourth-quarter adjusted net operating income of €72m ($98.6m), down 59% year on year due to significantly weaker market conditions for base chemicals, the French energy major said on Thursday.
Sales for the segment during the quarter were down 2% year on year to €3.93bn.
Base chemicals reported a net loss of €16m in the fourth quarter, as compared to a gain of €109m over the same period in 2008.
