SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan's Tuntex Petrochemicals will restart its 440,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Tainan later today or on Tuesday after an outage on 18 February, a company source said on Monday.
Urgent preparation is currently underway to restart the plant, which ran into mechanical problems late last week, the source said.
The outage at the plant exacerbated the tightness in PTA supplies from Taiwan, said a regional trader.
