US KBR awarded contract for Shell Deer Park chem plant in Texas

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--KBR has been awarded a contract to provide instrument and electrical support services to the Shell chemical plant in Deer Park, Texas, as well as the adjacent refining facilities from Shell’s joint venture with PMI Norteamerica, the US engineering group said on Wednesday.

The support services will include capital projects, turnarounds and maintenance, KBR said.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Chemicals produced at Shell’s Deer Park plant include acetone, benzene, butadiene, cumene, ethylene, isopropanol, phenol, propylene and toluene, according to ICIS plants and projects.
