SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--India's Reliance Industries expects to restart its cracker complex at Hazira, in Gujarat state, on 18 April following a planned turnaround, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The complex, which includes an 800,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker, a 450,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant and 480,000 tonne/year polyethylene (PE) facility, was shut down late last week for maintenance.
“The shutdown will tighten supply of PE and PP in India, and offset any easing of supply due to the restart of the Haldia Petrochemicals complex,” a trader said.
