EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s end-of-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Jul WTI $75.08/bbl, up 47 cents/bbl ; Jul BRENT $76.15/bbl, up 74 cents/bbl

Crude futures strengthened on Friday, supported by positive economic data from the US. At 8:30 GMT, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) August Oman futures contract settled at $75.19/bbl, up 52 cents/bbl on the previous close.

NAPHTHA: $679.50-680.50/tonne CFR Japan, down 50 cents

Naphtha values were slightly down on the previous day amid weakness in the downstream petrochemical sector. The second-half July contract was valued at $679.00-680.00/tonne CFR Japan. The first-half August contract was assessed at $676.00-677.00/tonne CFR Japan. Meanwhile, the second-half August contract was valued at $$673.00-674.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: $810-820/tonne, down $5

Prices continued to edged lower in the afternoon although crude futures firmed. Deals for July loading cargoes were heard at $815-820/tonne FOB Korea, while a cargo for August lifting was heard traded at $824/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: $740-750/tonne, steady

Prices remained within this band, supported by moderate gains in crude futures. A deal was reported for any July loading at $745/tonne FOB Korea. Trading was thin.
