HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Cereplast in 2010 will boost its shipments of bioplastics by 400% from 2009, the US producer said on Tuesday.

The increased volumes were expected to raise 2010 revenues by a minimum of 190%, the company said, with the bulk of shipments expected to be delivered in the third and fourth quarters.

Cereplast pointed to the recent opening of its Seymour production facility in Indiana and distribution agreements with Ashland and Bunge as steps taken to support the company’s growing sales volumes.

Overall, bioplastics produced and shipped this year would amount to about 16m pounds (7,260 tonnes), the company said.
