SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Iran’s Arya Sasol Petrochemical Co plans to shut its 1m tonne/year cracker at Assaluyeh for 10 days in mid-June to facilitate checks on machinery, a company official said on Wednesday.

“The plant will go for a scheduled shutdown early next week, hopefully for a maximum of 10 days to conduct checks on the machinery,” he said.

Normal operating rates at the cracker were pegged at 50-60% of capacity due to feedstock supply limitations from its gas refinery, he added.

The official added that there was no spot availability for June and the availability for July would depend on the operating status of the Assaluyeh unit, as well as contractual demand.
