SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--LANXESS will start construction of its new plastic compounding facilities at the company's production site in Gujarat, India, later this year, the Germany-based specialty chemicals producer said on Wednesday.
Construction of the new facilities, which would have an initial capacity of 20,000 tonnes/year, was expected to begin "in fall this year" without specifying a month, the company said in a statement.
The compounding facilities, an investment of over €10m, were due to go on stream with a workforce of 60 at the start of 2012, it said.

LANXESS has invested a total of around €50 million in the 13-hectare Jhagadia site thus far. A new facility for ion exchange resins is due to start production at the end of this year, it added.
