SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--SK Energy has shut down a crude distillation unit (CDU) and a residue fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) at its 840,000 bbl/day Ulsan refinery in South Korea, for scheduled maintenance, a source close to the company said on Monday.

SK Energy’s 72,000 bbl/day No 2 RFCC was shut down on 28 June for around 35 days of maintenance, while its 170,000 bbl/day No 3 CDU would remain offline for maintenance until 26 July, the source added.

Due to the scheduled shutdowns, operating rates at the Ulsan refinery in July would be reduced to around 73% of capacity.
