SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Indonesia’s Kaltim shut down its 660,000 tonne/year methanol plant in Bontang on 16 July due to mechanical problems, a company source said on Tuesday.
“There were problems at the syngas compressor and there were seawater leakage at the inter-stage cooler,” the source added.
The plant was expected to be back on stream on 25 July. Production loss was estimated at around 18,500 tonnes, the source said.
