LONDON (ICIS news)--WR Grace’s second quarter net profit almost tripled to $51m (€40m) year on year on strong sales in emerging regions, the US specialty chemicals company said on Thursday.
Sales were up by 4.1% overall at $685m, with a record 33% of the company’s sales being made in emerging regions, WR Grace said.
Adjusted operating profit was up by 22.4% at $91.1m with adjusted earnings per share at $0.75 compared with $0.53 in the same quarter last year, the company said in a statement.
“I am pleased with how our team is adapting to the dynamic conditions in our markets,” said CEO Fred Festa.
“Grace is well positioned to succeed in this challenging environment,” he added.
