Argentina June chem production rises 2.3% year over year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Argentina’s chemical production in June increased by 2.3% year over year, industry sources said on Wednesday.

Production of basic chemical products rose by 2.2% in June year over year, said Argentina’s Statistics Institute (INDEC). The institute does not provide tonnage figures for production.

June production of industrial gases was up by 4.5% year over year, the group said.

June production of plastic raw materials and synthetic rubber fell by 1.7% year over year.

Agrochemicals production was up by 19.2%, while production of pharmaceutical products declined by 3.6% year over year.

June production of detergents, soaps and personal products declined by 0.4% year over year.

Plastic products and rubber tyres production grew by 12.8% in June year over year, with rubber tyre production leading the segment with a 16.9% increase.

Production of plastic products grew in June by 12.2% year over year, INDEC said.
