YNCC requested for 100,000 tonnes of naphtha import every three months, they added.
The tender closes on 24 September, and offers will stay valid until 28 September, traders said.
YNCC will postpone a turnaround at the 857,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in Yeocheon, to April 2011 for around one month. The cracker was originally scheduled to be taken off line in October 2010 for maintenance, ICIS data showed.
Separately, the source said the company was considering increasing the ethylene capacity of its 578,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker by another 300,000-350,000 tonnes/year but a decision has yet to be made. Any expansion was expected to take place in 2012, he added.
YNCC operates two other crackers, namely the 578,000 tonne/year No 2 and 465,000 tonne/year No 3 complexes at the same site.
