Lucite Singapore shuts MMA plant for planned turnaround

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Lucite International shut its 120,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Singapore on September 20 for a planned turnaround of 18 days, a company source said on Thursday.
The company, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Rayon, plans to restart the plant located in Singapore's Jurong Island on 7 October, the source added.
Mitsubishi Rayon is one of the largest MMA producers in Asia.
Other Asian MMA producers include Asahi Kasei, Sumitomo Chemical and Formosa Plastics.
