Japan’s Asahi Kasei shuts Kawasaki MMA plant for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Asahi Kasei Corp shut its methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Kawasaki on 28 September as scheduled, a company source said on Friday.

The 100,000 tonne/year plant would be restarted on 10 November after a scheduled 44-day maintenance, the source added.

Other large MMA producers in Asia include Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC), Sumitomo Chemicals, and Formosa Plastics.
