SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) resumed operations at its 700,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker last Saturday following a snag early last week, a company source said on Monday.

“The cracker restarted on Saturday,” he said.

HPL buys 50,000 tonnes of full-range naphtha each month in the spot market, mostly via tender.

The company secures the bulk of its naphtha needs on a term basis, from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), and Kuwait Petroleum Corp.
