SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai MMA Co Ltd plans a 20-day maintenance shutdown of its 90,000 tonne/year MMA plant in Mab Ta Phut industrial estate by end November, a company source said on Friday.
The plant in Rayong Province, Thailand, would be restarted in mid December, the source added.
The source said initially the company planned a shorter turnaround of 5-8 days but decided to have a longer one to cut production costs caused by soaring crude prices.
The company would be unable to offer any spot cargoes in November and December due to the turnaround, said the source.
Thai MMA is a joint venture between Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) of Japan and Siam Cement Group (SCG) of Thailand.
