LONDON (ICIS)--Spolchemie has resumed production at its 60,000 tonne/year epoxy resins plant in Usti nad Labem after scheduled maintenance work, a source at the Czech company said on Tuesday.

Spolchemie began the shutdown on 29 October and the plant was originally scheduled to restart on 29 November, but resumed operations ahead of schedule last week.

“We had no problems and all contracts were honoured,” the source said.

During the outage, liquid epoxy resin prices fell by €150-200/tonne ($197-263/tonne), to €2,700-2,800/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), according to ICIS. This was due to weakening demand.
