SAO PAULO (ICIS news)--Canadian producer MBAC Fertilizer (MBAC) is planning to build a phosphate plant in the state of Tocantins in Brazil, the company said on Monday.

MBAC will invest $200m (€150,000) in a 500,000 tonne/year plant to produce single superphosphate (SSP).

MBAC said it will submit environmental studies to regulators so it can receive a construction license. Construction could start in the first quarter.

The company said it expects production to start by mid 2012.
