GPCA '10: Kuwait's PIC to turnaround Shuaiba PP unit in March

DUBAI (ICIS)--Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Co (PIC) plans to shut down its 150,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Shuaiba for an extensive turnaround in early March, 2011, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

"The turnaround will last 50 days, and the plant is expected to restart by end April after undergoing maintenance," the source said on the sidelines of the 5th Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) forum being held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

PIC is a completely-owned subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC).

The three-day annual GPCA forum runs through 7-9 December.
