US PA SEEKS 3 CENT/LB INCREASE FOR JANUARY
Two US phthalic anhydride (PA) producers announced a 3 cent/lb ($66/tonne, €50/tonne) price nomination for January, sources said on December 14. EU DECEMBER ACRYLATE CONTRACTS ROLL OVER
European freely negotiated acrylic acid and acrylate ester contract prices for December mostly settled at a rollover - €1,925-2,000/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe) for methyl acrylate; €1,980-2,060/tonne FD NWE for ethyl acrylate; €1,980-2,190/tonne for butyl acrylate and €2,200-2,350/tonne for 2-ethylhexyl acrylate.
EU PO CONTRACTS RISE IN DECEMBER ON RAWS
European propylene oxide (PO) contract prices mainly increased by €18/tonne in December, driven by firmer feedstock costs. The market has since tightened on strong downtream demand into deicers.
PA CONTRACTS UP €50/TONNE AFTER OX RISE
European phthalic anhydride (PA) December contracts settled up €50/tonne ($66/tonne) after a similar rise in the feedstock orthoxylene (OX) December contract price.
