SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Honam Petrochemical will shut its 750,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Yeosu for a 10-day maintenance in April, said a source close to the company on Monday.
The cracker was expected to be off line from 1-10 April, he said.
The planned shutdown is part of the company’s effort to increase its ethylene capacity in Yeosu to 1m tonnes/year by 2012.
Honam also runs a 1m tonne/year naphtha cracker in Daesan, South Korea, which was slated to undergo a month-long turnaround from 10 October, the company source said.
