HOUSTON (ICIS)--The line of ships at the Houston Ship Channel lengthened on Wednesday as fog continued to stall inbound traffic, a ship pilot dispatcher said.
The dispatcher at the Houston Ship Pilots said 13 vessels were waiting to exit the waterway and 72 were waiting to enter, 23 more than on Tuesday.
The West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA) issued an email saying 14 ships were waiting to enter Galveston/Texas City.
The WGMA said the fog was dissipating and that visibility of two to five miles was expected from Wednesday evening through mid-morning Thursday.
