SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Styrindo Mono Indonesia will shut its 250,000 tonne/year No 2 styrene monomer (SM) unit next week for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The unit located at Merak in Banten province would be shut for around 30-40 days as planned, the source added.

The company operates another 100,000 tonne/year No 1 unit at the same location. The unit would continue to run normally during the time.

Other SM plants in southeast Asia include Ellba Eastern in Singapore, Idemitsu SM in Malaysia, and IRPC and Siam Styrene in Thailand.
