SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has settled its March butadiene (BD) contract at $2,376/tonne (€1,711/tonne), up $247/tonne from February’s contract price, a company source said on Friday.
Strong demand from derivative synthetic rubber producers had driven up the BD price in the past month, traders said.
In February, the company settled its BD contract at $2,129/tonne on a pipeline DEL (delivered) basis.
BD spot prices were at $2,450-2,500/tonne CFR (cost & freight) NE (northeast) Asia in the week ending 25 February, up $300/tonne from late January, ICIS data showed.
