GUANGZHOU (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Hongye Chemical Industrial Group has restarted its 140,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) plant at Dongming in Shandong province after a maintenance turnaround, a company source said on Friday.
The plant was shut on 19 February and was restarted on 3 March. The source declined to give the operating rate of the plant at the moment.
Major ADA producers in China include Shandong Bohui, Xinjiang Dushanzi Tianli High and Newtech, PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical and Shenma Pingdingshan.
ADA is primarily used in the polyurethane and nylon industries.
