SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean producer LG MMA plans to shut its 50,000 tonne/year No 2 methyl methacrylate (MMA) line in Yeosu in June, a company source said on Friday.
The line was likely to be shut for less than 2 weeks for a catalyst replacement but the exact date had not been fixed, the source added.
There would be other shorter turnarounds for all three lines, but this had yet to be finalised.
‘The [No 2 turnaround] would be the longest of all turnarounds,” he said.
LG MMA operates a total of three MMA lines at the site, with a combined capacity of 176,000 tonnes/year.
It has two downstream polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) lines at the same location, with a total capacity of 90,000 tonnes/year.
