SINGAPORE (ICIS)--A new explosion rocked Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power complex on Monday, after suffering significant damage from the massive earthquake that struck northern Japan last Friday, according to media reports.

The explosion occured at the No 3 reactor at the complex, which was located 240km north of Tokyo, with seven people missing following the blast, according to Kyodo News.

Officials could not immediately confirm whether the blast had caused a radioactive leak, based on the media reports.

The complex had its first explosion on Saturday after the cooling system of the No 1 reactor failed.
