Coalition forces begin military action against Libya

LONDON (ICIS)--Coalition forces launched strikes against ?xml:namespace>Libya on Saturday as enforcement of a UN-mandated no-fly zone got under way.
Fighter planes bombed targets in the capital Tripoli while missiles were fired at strategic targets from ships and submarines, according to media reports.
The coalition, comprising the UK, US, France, Italy and Canada, began its action hours after pro-Gaddafi forces attacked the rebel stronghold of Benghazi despite declaring a ceasefire a day earlier. By: Graeme Paterson+44 20 8652 3214
