HOUSTON (ICIS)--The Bayer chlor-alkali unit in Texas is emerging from a three-day turnaround, sources said on Thursday.
The Bayer facility in Baytown, just east of Houston, produces caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite.
A company source said the three-day turnaround lasted until Thursday.
The Bayer plant has a caustic soda capacity of 345,000 tonnes/year and a chlorine capacity of 305,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
Other chlor-alkali producers include Dow Chemical, Shintech, PPG Industries and OxyChem.
