TORONTO (ICIS)--WR Grace has opened construction chemicals plants in ?xml:namespace>Colombia and Panama, the US-based specialty chemicals producer said on Friday.
The plants in Cartagena and Panama City, which opened this week, will produce cement additives and concrete admixtures, Grace said.
The investment helps Grace to further expand its presence in Latin America, which is a key emerging market for the company’s growth strategy, it said.
Last year, Grace’s sales from emerging regions were one third of total sales, it added.
“We continue to invest in emerging economies to capitalise on double-digit industry growth rates,” CEO Fred Festa said.
“Through the opening of plants like the ones in Panama City and Cartagena, we are leveraging our deep industry knowledge and product innovation to build new long-term customer relationships,” he added.
