SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ICIS)--The second quarter European cyclohexane (CX) contract delta has settled at €145/tonne ($204/tonne), up €2/tonne from the previous quarter, a buyer involved in the negotiations said late on Saturday.

“I have settled with two producers at €145/tonne,” said a major European consumer, on the sidelines of the International Petrochemical Conference (IPC).

Further confirmation was pending from other parties.

CX is a raw material for the production of caprolactam (capro) and adipic acid, which are used in the production of nylon (or polyamide). CX is produced by reacting benzene with hydrogen.

Hosted by the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA), the IPC continues through Tuesday.
