SHANGHAI (ICIS) -- China’s Guangzhou Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, plans to restart its 30,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) unit on 1 April, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The plant was shut down on 20 February in line with regular maintenance at its upstream 220,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker, which was shut down at the same time, the source added.
The company restarted the cracker on Tuesday, said the source.
Guangzhou Petrochemical will also restart its 80,000tonne/year SM unit and aromatics plant in early April, according to previous report from ICIS.
