SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Hairun Chemicals has achieved on-spec products at its new 20,000 tonne/year lubricant additive plant in early April, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The products are for the domestic market, the company said, but did not elaborate further.

It is expected to be the largest lubricant additive base in China as it now owns a total capacity of 40,000 tonnes/year, according to the source.

Shanghai Hairun is a joint venture between Sinopec and global additive maker Infineum International with a 50% share each. It is located at Pudong in Shanghai.
