US Arch obtains licence for wood preservatives from Osmose

TORONTO (ICIS)--Arch Chemicals has obtained a worldwide licence for patents of micronised wood preservatives from Osmose, the US-based specialty chemicals firm said on Tuesday.

Arch said the deal with Osmose includes a patent that previously was disputed by the companies.

Micronised wood preservatives help to pressure-treat wood products used in decks, fences, landscaping, agricultural, house framing and other construction applications. 

Arch and Osomose would continue to supply the market with their respective preservative products, Arch added.

Further details were not disclosed.
