SHANGHAI (ICIS)--JA Solar Holdings has started construction of a new photovoltaic (PV) production facility at ?xml:namespace> The company is investing yuan (CNY) 13.5bn ($2bn) to build the 3-gigawatt (GW) facility, which will produce solar cells and PV products. Construction started on 11 April, with the start-up of the facility slated in early 2012, the source said. The facility is expected to generate annual revenues of Y30bn once it becomes operational, the source said. Shanghai-based JA Solar Holdings is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high-performance solar cells and solar power products, according to its website. ($1 = CNY 6.54)
