HOUSTON (ICIS)--US imports of paraffin wax (p-wax) in March more than quadrupled from February, according to data released on Wednesday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Imports of p-wax (less than 0.75% oil) totalled 38,864 tonnes in March, more than four times the 8,974 tonnes imported in February, but up only slightly from the 36,289 tonnes imported in March 2010.
China, at 19,683 tonnes, was the major source for p-wax in March. Other suppliers of imports included Japan at 3,413 tonnes, Greece at 2,938 tonnes, Canada at 2,707 tonnes and Belgium at 2,609 tonnes.Additional p-wax sources included Egypt, Taiwan, India, Colombia and Malaysia.
