SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s East Hope is running its 600,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Chongqing in southwest China at full capacity, a company source said on Friday.

“Our plant is running at 100% at the moment with [low] inventory. Over 90% of our cargoes were fulfilled contract requirement,” the source told ICIS.

Cargoes from the inland plant are mainly sold in eastern China, where many polyester plants are located, the source added.

East Hope is a Sichuan-based conglomerate with businesses in animal feed, chemicals and metals.
