SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Dahua Petrochemical restarted its 1.5m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Dalian City in Liaoning province on 7 June after a turnaround and debottlenecking exercise, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant was shut on 20 May, a month behind its original plan on 16 April because of delayed preparation work.
“The plant is running at around 80% of its existing capacity... and is expected to reach full capacity tomorrow [Thursday],” the source said.
The source explained that although the company had completed an expansion work at the 1.5m tonne/year facility by adding an extra capacity of 500,000 tonne/year during the turnaround, but the company will be able to raise the additional part after the plant running stably for a period.
The company planned to raise the debottlenecked capacity in early July, the source said.
Yisheng Dahua Petrochemical is a joint venture between major PTA producer Yisheng Petrochemical and the Dahua Group.
The former has started up its 1.5m tonne/year No 3 PTA unit in ?xml:namespace>
