LONDON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical will prolong a turnaround at its 265,000 tonne/year chlorine and epichlorohydrin (ECH) line at Freeport, Texas, in the US, by an additional week to carry out extra maintenance work, a company source said on Thursday.
The planned turnaround will now last for 20 days instead of 10, from the end of July until the middle of August.
"The fully operational small train will help offset production losses occurred by the delayed opening of the large train," added the source.
Dow also has a smaller chlorine and ECH line in ?xml:namespace>
Supply from Dow Freeport will be sufficient to handle typical customer volumes, the source added.
