GUANGZHOU (ICIS)--Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) announced on Friday that it has appointed Peter Vanacker to the Executive Committee position of head of industrial marketing and innovation with effect from 1 July.
Joachim Wolff has assumed Vanacker’s previous role as head of the polyurethanes (PU) business unit, the company said in a statement.
In his new role, Vanacker will be responsible for driving industrial marketing and innovation as key elements of BMS’s growth strategy. In addition, he will lead the company’s development business activities in functional films and carbon nanotubes, among others.
At the same time, Daniel Meyer joins the Executive Committee and succeeds Wolff as head of the coatings, adhesives and specialties business unit. Meyer was previously the unit’s head of marketing and business development in the Asia Pacific region.
In a further development, BMS has extended its Executive Committee to incorporate key functional activities.
Michael Bernhardt, Wolfgang Miebach and Richard Northcote join the committee on July 1 as heads of human resources, corporate development, and communications and public affairs, respectively.
