SINGAPORE (ICIS)--CNOOC-Kings Group has shut its 900,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit in Huizhou, China, after a fire broke out at a refinery complex at the site on Monday morning, a company source said.
“The fire was controlled immediately after it broke out,” the company source said, but could not provide further details as to how long the plant would be shut.
Key buyers of PX from CNOOC-Kings Group include Yisheng Petrochemical, Xianglu Petrochemical and BP.
